Annelie Karlsson appointed new Chairman of Partex's Board of Directors

Today, it was decided that Partex – a thriving company in Gullspång, which is the world's leading producer of identification products for industries - will change its chairman at the start of the new year. The new chairman will be Family Business Network's co-founder and CEO, Annelie Karlsson, who will replace Martin Lundstedt.

Martin Lundstedt, who is the President and CEO of AB Volvo, has been the chairman of Partex since the beginning of 2011. He was recruited to the board by the company's owner Sophie Lööf, who has been involved in the family business for a number of years. During the period from 2008 up until now, the company has tripled its sales, from about SEK 100 million to a projected SEK 300 million in 2019, with a maintained margin.

- We want to thank Martin for all he has done for our company - during this time we have grown significantly. We are a family business in the third generation and on its way into the fourth, so with a generation shift ahead of us, this feels like a good opportunity for renewal, says Sophie Lööf.

– There have been many interesting years, to develop both the sales and profit of Partex. With Skaraborg as a ground, the company is well prepared for the future, thanks to fine products, co-workers, management and owners. I will continue to follow Partex with great interest in the future and wish Annelie the best of luck in her new role as the chairman, says Martin Lundstedt.

Annelie Karlsson is operative as Founder and CEO of Family Business Network in Sweden, also called FBN, a member organization that works for dynamic Swedish family businesses over generations. She also holds a doctorate from the Stockholm School of Economics, has a background from IMD Business School and Kellogg, and is also a board member of MAX Burger AB.

- It feels very exciting to be able to contribute to owner continuity and ongoing growth in a third-generation family business. It is especially interesting that this company, with its heart in Gullspång, has operations among many different parts of the world - which fits with my Småland roots and with my international professional life. The fact that it is owned by a strong woman who will pass it down to her daughters gives the mission an extra incentive. Research shows that family businesses who are well kept into the fourth generation have great opportunities to survive for a long time. I want to help Partex become one of these long-term viable companies,” says Annelie Karlsson.

The change will take effect on January 1, and Sophie Lööf believes this is a long-term commitment from both parties.

- It is very gratifying that we now have a chairman with extensive experience on generational shifts, and who can guide us well into the journey we have ahead of us. At this current time, we could not have wished for a better chairman than Annelie Karlsson, who fits us like a glove, says Sophie Lööf.
