Materials

PARTEX marking systems come in a range of designs and materials. The many plastic and steel materials are directly customised for each area of application. The materials and their different properties are presented below.

Materials

Information

ABS

ABS is a copolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. ABS is halogen free and does not contain brominated flameproof materials. ABS is a tough, strong and rigid material. ABS is not flameproof and susceptible to solvents but resists petrol, turpentine and ethanol. ABS is also resistant to alkaline and neutral detergents. The above information applies to non-printed material only.

HARD ZEREX (PC/ABS)

PC / ABS is a thermoplastic compound where arylfosfatestrar included as a flame retardant. Halogen-free and flame resistant quality. The material has good mechanical properties and is the kind of heat resistant and can withstand. Temperature resistance ranges from -30°C to +70°C (-22°F to 158°F). The above information applies only to non-printed materials.

NORYL

Noryl is a modified PPO/PS plastic (polyphenyl oxide + polystyrene). Noryl is a flameproof and halogen free material. The above information applies to non-printed material only.

POLYAMIDE

Polyamide is partially crystalline plastic of 4 various types. Polyamide 6 is an unfilled nylon of 6,6 carbon atoms and halogen free. It has good strength properties, toughness and resistance to wear. Polyamide also resist organic solvent, but has a limited resistance to acids and alkalis. The above information applies to non-printed material only.

POLYESTER

Polyester is an impact and chemical resistant material. Its characteristic properties are printanbility, workability and punchability. The material is resistant to UV radiation. It is suitable for long life printing on labels and markingplates. It also has good resistance to high temperatures.

POLYSTYRENE

Polystyrene (PS) is a plastic made by the polymerisation of styrene. Polystyrene is a halogen free but not flameproof. Teperature range is -30°C to +60°C (-22°F to +140°F). It is suitable for indoor use. PS has good impact toughness at room teperature but limited impact toughness in cold enviroments. The above information applies to non-printed materials only.

PVC

PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, and it contains halogens. PVC has a natural flame decreasing property. It has a long life span and sufficiently resistant to climatic factors. The PVC material is calcium and zinc stabilised. The softened PVC material contains a Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate softner. The material is strong and flexible. Temperatures below +60°C (140°F) are recommended working temperatures. PVC is recyclable and can be remelted several times. The above information applies to non-printed materials only.

STAINLESS MATERIAL

Stainless material SS 2347 corresponds to AISI 316 or W.no. 1.4404. An acid resistant steel containing a minimum of 17% chromium, 11% nickel and 2% molybdenum. The material has good resistance in salt and wet weather environments. Good corrosion resistance to acids.

ZEREX

Polyether-based thermoplastic, a compound of polyurethane (TPU). ZEREX is a halogen free flamproof extrusion compound developed for applications requiring limited smoke and toxin generation, with good resistance to flames. The temperature range from -30°C to +90°C (-22°F to +194°F). It has been approved for use in the subway systems of New York. The above information applies to non-printed materials only.
